Celebrating Easter weekend with a great group of teens! Thankful for this group and the memories we made.
Moldy passports after a year and a half without travel! I pulled them out this week because we will be needing them soon! Our family is moving back to Houston after 3 fantastic years in Singapore. We are so sad to leave people we love here that are our new SE Asia family, but joyful@to reunite with our Texan family. What a blessing to have family and places we love around the world. We are changed by our time here and will be blogging again soon. Time to wipe down those passports and get them travel-ready!
This has been a tough week because I had surgery and am terrible at resting. School is on break, I’m on medical leave from work, and I’m driving my family nuts if they were honest with you. Resting has never been easy for me, but the love and care of friends here has made it so much better. Thank you to all who called, sent yummy food, prayed, or visited. You are the best part of my life and I am blessed even when I can do nothing at all!
Michael and I slipped away for some stress relief before his AP exams and the end of my semester. I took him to Brotzeit for amazing Austrian food and then to The Fragment Room to vent our frustrations. We smashed 3 crates of glass and an old VCR before Michael exhausted himself. Rage rooms are awesome. Every teen guy and middle-aged doctoral student should have a go in one.
It’s impossible to share how much I love this place. Before CoVid, the park was a daily outing for exercise. Since CoVid, it is our refuge from the isolation and electronics-dominated house we now spend so much time in.
The view out of my office window. Singapore is always beautiful to me. I love waking to her sights and sounds each day.
